In new owners purchased the Pioneer Club but were unable to compete with the larger casinos on Fremont Street both at the beginning and at the end of the Fremont Street Experience or with the large new megaresorts on The Strip.
The vintage Pioneer Club signs and Vegas Vic sign still exists on the exterior of the building. Although the Pioneer Club no longer operates as a casino, Vegas Vic The 40 ft neon cowboy lives on.
The Young Electric Sign Company was commissioned to build the neon version of the sign by the owners of the Pioneer Club.

Las Vegas - A Centennial History. Check-in and check-out - Very poor. It was a 10 min queue just to get to the desk and the check-in process was one of the most inefficient that I have ever experienced Room - Good size room, comfortable bed, quiet air-con, good blackout blinds although they did let in a little light , spotlessly clean.
Facilities - loads of choice for bars and food. You really have no need to leave if you don't want to which I am guessing is want they are going for , choice of day spa additonal cost or cardio room free and open If you look beyond the furniture and decoration, everything is very old from sockets to switches etc.
As a swimmer, my biggest negative is with the pool complex. It has a lap pool, but as it has an underwater seat the whole way round, it was impossible to tumble-turn; which was very frustrating.
The solution I found was getting a taxi to a nearby 24hour Fitness gym. Overall - Good, but not great. I had been a fairly loyal MGM visitor.
I haven't visited in about a year though. Aria and Mandalay Bay have met my needs and although I enjoy the MGM's breadth of offerings, the crowds of Jersey Shore wannabees and family junkets just started to ruin it for me.
Getting hit by a stroller just isn't Vegas for me. Was offered the new Executive King Suite for a couple of days.
And they are definitely marketing toward the two demographics that I mentioned. There is a Hollywood floodlight aimed right at the bed.
I'll leave that up to the reader. And no more personal refridgerator. While they updated the rooms, and they are still comfortable, they added nothing to them.
And they've lost a little bit. I think I've made my last visit to MGM. Flights Vacation Rentals Restaurants Things to do. All of your saved places can be found here in My Trips.

Hooters Casino Hotel Las Vegas. Rodeway Inn Las Vegas. Owners Suites at Signature Las Vegas. The allure of this old historic western hotel located in downtown Las Vegas, NM is fabulous and is full of haunting lure.
Many stories have been told about its inhabitants and thier pranks. We our meal at the in house restaurant and service.
The hotel was old and very interesting- the reason why we wanted to stay. Could have been a little cleaner, but was a treat to experience the old west in this quiet little town.
We absolutely fell in love with this hotel! It is fascinating to walk around - there are lots of historical nooks and crannies to peek into, and they are slowly painting and sprucing up the place.
It already looks pretty darned good. We had excellent service, from the moment we walked in, and we got more than we bargained for in terms of our accommodations.
A beautifully appointed suite, probably square feet or so, and our teenager loved his fold out couch and private sitting room, as well as learning about the local lore regarding a ghost in the hotel!
We looked out over the historic plaza, which had snow this time of year. The staff were very helpful in terms of providing extra towels, directions to local sights, and serving a delicious full breakfast in the morning in the hotel's dining room.
It was very quiet at night, and the only slight drawback was that the beds were a tad soft for my taste, but I nevertheless had a great sleep.
Will definitely return to this hotel if we return to Las Vegas in the future. Great value for the money.
Stayed at this hotel with my daughter. It is a great place with a lot of history behind it. I a must stay for the history buff.
There is not much to do in Las Vegas, NM, so stay here if you are looking for history. The rooms are all non-smoking, but as with all such places the smokers will still smoke and your room and towels will smell of smoke.
The restaurant was good. There is also a bar, and it will provide some noise during the early evening. Parking is on the street in a not-so-nice part of town.
Part of it was filmed at this Hotel. My experience with this hotel was first greeted with a friendly staff.
Everyone from the cleaning staff to the general manager were polite and helped me with needs. PS Santiago at the front desk will help you with any issue you have.
The Plaza Hotel has a very historic bar which is a great place to get a drink and listen to live music while the Landmark Grill has delicious food and an excellent chef.
During my experience with the hotel I rented their ballroom to host a party in which people attended.
